Compare Prices on Brother MFC8220

I unprejudiced bought the mfc8220 after almost seven years with an older brother mfc 4350. It was composed going strong, but the drum needed to be replaced, and prices have dropped so remarkable it made sense to upgrade.

The printer is evil lickety-split. The industrial build is top notch. Print quality is worthy. Paper handling is safe. It integrates with my accepted scanned doc management applciation, paperport.

If you want a laser, instead of inkjets that are slower and cost powerful more to race over time, and you don't need an integrated flatbed scanner, this is the one to net.

Brad

I've had mine for 10 months now and it's been very reliable; not one jam with it. It's expeditiously to print out the first page, the indicate is a monochrome LCD with a backlight so you can contemplate in sunless spaces (say, if you retain it under a counter), no paper jams, no nonsense.

Also, if you're an Apple owner the drivers are already included with OS X; truly slip n print. What's a genuine treat is to combine it with an Apple Airport Snarl and exhaust Apple's Bonjour software to easily convert it to a wireless network printer. Bonjour is available for both OS X and Windows computers, and is a amble to install.

I highly recommend if you're in the market for a multifuntion monochrome laser printer machine that is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS.

Overall: This is a pleasurable multifunction FAX machine.

Background: About June 2005, our previous FAX machine, a Brother MFC-6550, died after 8.5 years of faithful service. We wanted to occupy a similar laser multifunction FAX machine, but at a effect remarkable less than the MFC-6550.

Result: We did a web search of reviews for various laser-based multifunction FAX machines and liked the features of the Brother MFC-8220. After searching many possible sellers, we bought a remanufactured MFC-8220 from Amazon.com because of the blooming unpleasant tag ($180 before shipping) and the one-year warranty.

Comments: We are impressed with the laser printing urge (~ 20 PPM) and quality (captivating images) . Please ticket that printing quality is a runt better than copying quality because the scanner resolution is less than 600 x 600 dpi. Also, compared to our previous machine, this Brother MFC has considerable more standard memory (32 MB vs. 2 MB) and can print Asian fonts (e.g., frail Chinese characters) . Other chilly features include the handset that allows us to utilize as a telephone, G3 FAX hurry (i.e., 33K bps), and copying reduction/enlargement from 25 to 400% in one-percent increments. The one ample negative that prevented us from giving a 5-star rating is the noise of the MFC-8220 when it prints/copies. The print engine revs like it wants to budge bustle! There are some smaller downsides, such as the occasional paper problem and a less-than-clear scheme of which device to face the paper for manual duplexing.

Conclusion: For the first three months, the factory refurbished Brother MFC-8220 has performed well.

YMMV,
